"The evening casts a magic spell that sets this place apart There's time to stop and time to dream that lifts the troubled heart"

Come and be enchanted by Mackay Country - an area steeped in history. North West Sutherland is part of Scotland's first Geopark and lends itself to the creative artist or photographer, and lovers of the natural world.   This is the area where John Lennon spent a lot of his time in his youth, and the surroundings inspired him to write "In My Life"

Peace and tranquillity are abundant with an environment that is perfect for walking, exploring or just taking it easy. The fauna of the area is diverse and what may seem rare in some areas is abundant here. Fishing and bird watching are popular pastimes - you can listen for the corncrake or walk to Faraid Head to see puffins.

The beaches with their golden sand are second to none, the sunsets are spectacular, and in mid summer it never grows dark.

A visit to Cape Wrath - the last wilderness, or the immense Smoo Cave where you can visit the inner cave by boat must not be missed. We can arrange golfing and fishing in the famous Durness limestone lochs while you stay at Glengolly - there is so much to do you will want to return.
